Health and Safety Officer
We are currently recruiting for an experienced and proactive Health & Safety Officer on behalf of one of our trusted clients within the mechanical and electrical services sector.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing SME business that works across a diverse range of projects in both the public and private sectors.
The Role:
You'll be a key part of the SHEQ Management Team, responsible for ensuring health, safety, environmental, and quality standards are upheld across head office operations and multiple regional sites. The role is office-based with regular travel to active sites in the Northwest.
Key Responsibilities Include:

Identifying, assessing and managing workplace risks
-
Conducting incident, accident and near-miss investigations
-
Delivering toolbox talks and in-house training
-
Supporting new starter inductions and safety briefings
-
Developing and implementing H&S policies and procedures
-
Producing RAMS, Construction Phase Plans, Fire Safety Plans, and other site-specific documentation
-
Carrying out regular site inspections and safety audits
-
Ensuring compliance with COSHH regulations and environmental best practices
-
Supporting and advising project teams on safe working practices
-
Reviewing subcontractor applications and monitoring site compliance
-
Driving a positive safety culture across the organisation
What We're Looking For:
-
NEBOSH General Certificate and/or NEBOSH Construction Certificate
-
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
-
Practical, proactive and business-focused mindset
-
Confident in using Microsoft Office applications
-
Good understanding of industry regulations and H&S legislation
Desirable Qualifications:
-
NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent)
-
Internal Auditor training (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001)
-
P405 Asbestos Management
-
IOSH Membership
