📍 Northwest London | 💼 Full-Time, Permanent | 💷 £48,000 - £55,000 DOE

We're hiring an experienced Commercial Gas Engineer to join a growing mechanical and electrical services provider operating across public and private sectors. This role covers multiple sites across Northwest London and involves servicing, maintaining, and repairing commercial gas systems and plant equipment.

The Role:

You'll carry out planned and reactive works on commercial gas appliances, heating systems, and mechanical plant. This includes fault diagnosis, repairs, annual servicing, minor installations, and technical reporting. You'll work closely with electrical and BMS teams to ensure smooth service delivery, safety compliance, and minimal client disruption.

Key Responsibilities:

Service and repair commercial gas boilers and heating systems. Complete gas safety checks and service records to required standards. Diagnose faults, repair leaks, and liaise with the planning and procurement teams. Produce technical reports and updates using PDA systems. Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and deliver excellent customer service.

What We're Looking For:

Qualifications:
Gas Safe registered. ACS qualifications (CoDNCO1, CIGA1, TPCP1A, CDGA1, CCN1, CENWAT, CKR1). L1 Energy Conservation (C&G 6084), Water Regs 1999 & Byelaws. Unvented hot water certification. Desirable: CORT1 and ICPN1.

Knowledge & Experience:
5+ years in commercial gas servicing, repair, and breakdown. Experience with forced draft burners (e.g. Riello, Nuway, Wieshaupt) and systems ranging from 65kW to 6MW. Understanding of pumps, plate heat exchangers, pressurisation units, and plant rooms. Familiarity with BMS controls (Trend, Honeywell, Seachange) and electrical interlocks. Proficient with PDA use, electrical safety, and interpreting technical schematics.

Skills:
Excellent fault-finding, diagnostic, and problem-solving abilities. Clear communicator with ability to explain technical issues to non-technical users. Organised, proactive, and safety-conscious. Able to prioritise and multi-task effectively in high-pressure environments.

Additional Requirements:

Full UK/EU driving licence. Fluent English (verbal and written). Willing to join an out-of-hours call-out rota. Must live within commutable distance to London and respond to emergency call-outs within 2 hours. Enhanced DBS check required.
