Active Fire & AOV Install Engineer
Job Title: Active Fire & AOV Install Engineer
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Overview:
We are working with a respected and expanding fire protection and building services contractor that specialises in delivering high-quality life safety systems. As part of their continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Active Fire & AOV Install Engineer to join their installation team, delivering compliant, reliable, and efficient systems across commercial and residential sites.
Key Responsibilities:

Carry out the installation of active fire systems, including fire alarms, detection systems, and emergency lighting
-
Install and commission AOV (Automatic Opening Vent) systems in accordance with design specifications and regulations
-
Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and project plans
-
Ensure installations are completed to industry and regulatory standards (BS5839, BS EN12101, etc.)
-
Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to ensure timely and quality delivery
-
Maintain accurate installation records, documentation, and certification
-
Communicate effectively with clients and represent the business professionally on-site
-
Adhere to company and site-specific health & safety policies
Requirements:
-
Proven experience installing fire alarm systems and AOVs
-
Knowledge of current fire safety regulations and compliance standards
-
FIA units or relevant fire safety qualifications (desirable)
-
Electrical qualification or background (18th Edition advantageous)
-
CSCS/ECS card and a full UK driving licence
-
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
-
Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team
