Active Fire & AOV Install Engineer

Job Title: Active Fire & AOV Install Engineer
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Overview:
We are working with a respected and expanding fire protection and building services contractor that specialises in delivering high-quality life safety systems. As part of their continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Active Fire & AOV Install Engineer to join their installation team, delivering compliant, reliable, and efficient systems across commercial and residential sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out the installation of active fire systems, including fire alarms, detection systems, and emergency lighting

  • Install and commission AOV (Automatic Opening Vent) systems in accordance with design specifications and regulations

  • Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and project plans

  • Ensure installations are completed to industry and regulatory standards (BS5839, BS EN12101, etc.)

  • Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to ensure timely and quality delivery

  • Maintain accurate installation records, documentation, and certification

  • Communicate effectively with clients and represent the business professionally on-site

  • Adhere to company and site-specific health & safety policies

Requirements:

  • Proven experience installing fire alarm systems and AOVs

  • Knowledge of current fire safety regulations and compliance standards

  • FIA units or relevant fire safety qualifications (desirable)

  • Electrical qualification or background (18th Edition advantageous)

  • CSCS/ECS card and a full UK driving licence

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team
