At Rubix, Paul brings a wealth of experience and industry knowledge to the team, supporting both clients and candidates with a practical, informed approach. With over 30 years in the commercial M&E sector, Paul’s career has progressed from hands-on work as a fitter through to MEP Lead roles, before moving into manufacturing sales with a number of well-known brands. This breadth of experience gives him a deep understanding of the industries Rubix operates in.
Although joining Rubix marks Paul’s first role within the recruitment sector, he is no stranger to hiring and developing talent. Throughout his career, he has been actively involved in recruiting for businesses he has worked with, giving him valuable insight into what both employers and candidates are really looking for.
Paul’s leadership background has shaped his key strengths. He is a strong listener who values a democratic approach, ensuring that everyone feels involved and engaged in the process. This people-first mindset, combined with his organisational awareness and technical expertise, allows him to build strong relationships and deliver a high level of service.
What sets Paul apart is his real-world experience within commercial contracting. His technical knowledge enables him to fully understand the roles he recruits for, offering candidates informed guidance and clients confidence that they are being supported by someone who truly understands their needs.
An interesting insight into Paul’s background is that, after completing his apprenticeship, he spent three years living and working in Germany as a commercial pipe fitter during a period when work was scarce in the UK. Outside of work, Paul has an impressive sporting history, he played county golf for Essex as a teenager and went on to play semi-professional football for teams across Essex, East London, and Germany.
